The Tally Tame privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. It is a separate document. The consents you give under it are given separately from this contract.
The short version
- Tally Tame is a record-keeping tool for your money. It gives no financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
- Tally Tame moves no money. It is not a bank, a lender, a broker or an adviser.
- You must be 18 or older.
- Tally Tame is not offered yet to residents of Quebec, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
- Your records belong to you. We use them only to run the service for you. You can export them at any time.
- The Free plan costs $0. Premium costs $9.99 a month or $99 a year, in Canadian dollars, plus tax. It renews until you cancel.
- You can cancel in the app at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- Bank connections use Plaid. You sign in on Plaid's screens. We never see a bank password.
- Scans, suggestions, forecasts and estimates can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them.
- Ontario law governs these terms. Consumer protection law where you live still applies to you.
- We tell you by email at least 30 calendar days before a change to these terms or to a price takes effect. A change that the law requires can come sooner.
The short version helps you read. The full terms below are the contract.

Who can use Tally Tame
- You must be 18 or older. Nobody under 18 may create an account or be a member of a workspace.
- You must be able to enter a binding contract under the law where you live.
- If you use Tally Tame for a company, you confirm that you can bind that company to these terms. "You" then means both you and the company.
- You may not use Tally Tame where the law forbids it, or if a sanctions law forbids us from dealing with you.
- Residents of Quebec, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland may not create an account today. Sign-up asks where you live. If we learn that an account belongs to a resident of one of those places, we tell the person. We give them 30 days to export, and then we close the account.
- You can correct your country, and your province or territory, in Settings. A correction re-checks the rules above. An answer these rules refuse is not saved, and your account stays as it was.
Tally Tame is built for Canada. It is available in English only. Bank sync works with banks in Canada and in the United States, chosen by the country you gave at sign-up (section 7). Every other feature works wherever you live.
Your account
One person, one account. An account belongs to 1 person. Do not share your sign-in. To work with someone, invite them as a member (section 5).
Two-step verification. Every account uses two-step verification, with an authenticator app or with a text message. You enrol during sign-up. You cannot turn it off. Keep your recovery codes somewhere safe. If you lose your second step and your recovery codes, we cannot promise to restore your access.
Text messages. If you choose text-message verification, we send a sign-in code to your mobile phone number. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates apply to you. Reply STOP to any text to end text messages to that number. STOP does not close your account and does not remove the two-step requirement. After STOP, sign in with your recovery codes or an authenticator app. The privacy policy, section 19, says what we collect and how we use it.
Keep it safe. Keep your password and your recovery codes secret. Tell us at once at the support email if you think that someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account until you tell us.
Accurate details. Give us a working email address and keep it current. We send security notices and legal notices to it. A notice sent to that address counts as received 1 business day after we send it.
Sample data. Sample data is a made-up household. Use it to learn the app. Remove it before you enter your own records, or keep it in a separate workspace.
Workspaces and members
A workspace holds one set of books. The person who creates it is the owner.
The owner decides. The owner invites members, sets each member's role (owner, editor, viewer), sets each member's module permissions, and sets the export permission. The owner can remove a member at any time. The owner's plan sets the workspace's limits.
The owner is responsible. The owner confirms that they have the right to share the records in the workspace with each member they invite. The owner confirms that every member is 18 or older.
Members accept these terms. Every member accepts these terms when they join. A member sees and changes only what their permissions allow. An editor can change and delete records, including records another member entered. The activity log records who did what.
Records stay with the workspace. When a member leaves or is removed, the records they entered stay in the workspace. The workspace belongs to its owner. If you want your own copy, export it before you leave.
Receipt email. Each workspace has a receipt email address. The owner can list up to 10 senders. The owner is responsible for what those senders forward.
Business workspaces. A business workspace can carry a fiscal year, a tax-year view, and its answers on whether it is registered for GST/HST and for QST. It is still a record-keeping tool. Section 6 applies.
What Tally Tame is, and what it is not
What it is. Tally Tame consolidates accounts, debts, expenses, income, investments and assets into one view, across one or more workspaces. It calculates balances, budgets, interest, minimum payments, payoff plans, forecasts, allowances and reports from the records on file.
It gives no advice. Nothing in Tally Tame is financial, investment, accounting, tax or legal advice. Nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow, repay, hold or do anything. Tally Tame is not a financial adviser, a financial planner, a fiduciary, an accountant or a tax preparer. Ask a qualified professional before you make a financial decision.
It moves no money. Tally Tame cannot pay a bill, transfer funds, trade a security or borrow. A payoff plan is a set of dated instructions for you. Nothing happens unless you do it at your bank.
It is not a bank. Pixibiz is not a bank, a trust company, a credit union, a payment provider, a lender, a credit broker, a credit bureau or an insurer. Tally Tame does not offer any of their products. A rate in the debt catalogue is a published rate shown for comparison. It is not an offer. Pixibiz has no agreement with any lender and receives nothing from one.
Estimates are estimates. These outputs are calculations from what is on file, and can be wrong:
- Output
- Interest, minimum payment, payoff plan
- What to know
- Calculated from the terms you entered, by the method the screen discloses. Your lender's figure governs.
- Output
- Forecast
- What to know
- A day-by-day walk from recurring series, debt obligations and expected pay. It is not a prediction of your bank balance.
- Output
- Market prices
- What to know
- Estimates from a market data supplier. They can be delayed or wrong. They move net worth only when you record them.
- Output
- Exchange rates
- What to know
- Daily rates from the Bank of Canada. A converted figure carries an approximation mark and the date of the stalest rate.
- Output
- Depreciation
- What to know
- An estimate that never moves net worth until you record it.
- Output
- Mileage and per-diem allowances
- What to know
- Priced from published rate tables (CRA, IRS). We store every input. A rate change never restates a claim. Confirm the rate that applies to you.
- Output
- Tax-year view (business workspaces)
- What to know
- Lines mapped to the CRA T2125 form. It is not a tax return and not tax advice. You are responsible for what you file.
- Output
- Category, tag and subscription suggestions
- What to know
- Suggestions from your rules, your history and a keyword table. Confirm each one.
Your bank's record governs. A balance or a transaction in Tally Tame is a copy or an entry. It is not an official record of your account. Check with your bank before you act on it.
Your records, your responsibility. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, import, confirm or let a rule confirm. Keep any record that a tax authority requires you to keep, in the form that authority requires. Tally Tame does not replace the records that a tax authority requires.
Bank connections through Plaid
Bank sync is a Premium feature for banks in Canada and in the United States. It uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid").
One country per account. The country you gave at sign-up decides which country's banks you are offered. A person in Canada is offered banks in Canada. A person in the United States is offered banks in the United States. You cannot connect a bank in the other country. If your country is wrong, correct it in Settings (section 3). A bank already connected stays connected when you correct your country.
Your authorisation. When you connect a bank, you authorise Plaid and Pixibiz to access and transmit your account and transaction information from your bank, on your behalf. The purpose is to show that information in Tally Tame. You confirm that you are the account holder or have the account holder's permission.
Plaid's terms. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's end user privacy policy at https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy. Plaid is a separate company. We are not responsible for Plaid's services.
Read-only. You sign in to your bank on Plaid's screens. We never see or store a bank password. We hold a read-only token per connection. We cannot move money.
Not instant, not guaranteed. A sync happens when Plaid tells us that new lines exist. It is not instant. A bank can change its systems, refuse a connection, or send lines that are late, duplicated, incomplete or wrong. We do not guarantee that a connection works, or that synced data is accurate, complete or current. Synced lines land in an inbox for you to confirm.
Disconnect. You can disconnect a bank at any time in the app. We then stop syncing and remove the connection. Disconnection does not delete transactions already in your books.
Change of method. Canada is building a consumer-driven banking framework. The United States is reviewing a rule of its own on access to bank data. The way a connection works can change as those rules come into force. We tell you if a change affects you.
Imports, receipts and AI features
Imports. CSV, TSV, OFX and QFX files are read inside your browser and are never uploaded. The review step flags duplicates and suggests a category and a tag. You confirm each row. One import is one batch, and "Undo import" removes it whole.
Receipt and statement scanning. A vision model at a third-party supplier reads the image and prefills fields for you to confirm. For a statement, every prefilled field carries a confidence, and anything uncertain is badged "Check this". Nothing is written until you confirm it. The model can misread a merchant, an address, an amount, a date or a tax. Check every scan.
Recording the payment. When you confirm a scan, you can also record the payment. The account's balance then moves at once. If your bank later sends the same purchase, Tally Tame tries to recognise it and keep 1 record. Where it is not sure, it asks you.
Receipt lines and items. A receipt scan also reads the lines printed on the receipt. Kept lines build a list of items in your workspace, with how often and at what cost you buy each one. A line is not a split: it never changes a balance, a budget or a report. Items stay inside the workspace. The model can misread a line. Check the lines before you keep them.
Free plan limit. 5 scans a month.
Suggestions are not decisions. No scan, rule, suggestion or sweep makes a decision about you. Each one produces a value you can change, or a finding you can dismiss.
Your permission to scan. When you scan a receipt or a statement, you confirm that you may send its contents to our supplier. The in-app consent describes the supplier as a third-party AI service. The privacy policy, section 6, names the supplier and what it receives.

Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). We add GST or HST, or the sales tax that applies where you live. The checkout page shows the tax before you pay. There is no other fee. Every plan can export every record it holds. The plans differ in export formats, not in what you can take out (section 11).
9.2Trial
Premium starts with a 14-day trial. No card is required. When the trial ends, your account returns to the Free plan. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy Premium and enter a card. Your records stay. The Free plan's limits then apply. Records beyond those limits stay in your account, and you can export them at any time.
9.3Buying Premium
You buy Premium on a checkout page that Stripe, Inc. hosts. Before you pay, the page shows the plan, the price, the currency, the tax, the billing period, the renewal date and how to cancel. You confirm the purchase with an explicit action. We email you a receipt and a copy of these terms within 15 days. Every invoice is available in the app, with a PDF.
9.4Renewal
Premium renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. By buying Premium you consent to that renewal.
- Before a yearly renewal we email you at least 30 days in advance with the date and the price.
- Before a monthly renewal we send no reminder. Every charge produces an invoice in the app.
- If a promotional price or a promotion code ends, we email you before the first charge at the regular price. That email arrives between 2 and 10 days ahead, with the date and the price.
9.5Price changes
We can change a price. A change never applies to a period you already paid for. We email you at least 30 calendar days before the new price takes effect. The email shows the old price, the new price and the date. If you do not want the new price, cancel before that date and nothing more is charged. If you keep Premium after that date, the new price applies from your next renewal. Section 21 gives you a further 30 days after the change takes effect.
9.6Failed payment
If a charge fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. If the charge still fails after 15 days, Premium ends and your account returns to the Free plan. Your records stay.
9.7Promotion codes
A promotion code applies only as its offer states. It cannot be combined with another code. It has no cash value. We can withdraw a code that was obtained by fraud.
9.8Referrals
Tally Tame has a referral programme. Each member has a referral code and a link.
- A friend opens your link before they sign up, or enters your code in Settings, Plan, within 14 days of creating their account.
- The reward is earned when the friend first pays for Premium, or at sign-up if we say so at the time. Both of you then receive the same number of days of Premium. The default is 30 days. The reward is never money and has no cash value.
- A member who already pays for Premium receives the days as a credit against the next invoice.
- You see 2 counts: friends who joined, and rewards earned. You never see who they are.
- Do not refer yourself, buy or sell codes, or post a code as spam. We can cancel a reward obtained that way and end your part in the programme.
- We can pause or end the programme. A reward already earned stays.
- The privacy policy, sections 4.5 and 16.4, explains what we record.
9.9Prices and limits
We can change prices and plan limits. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout and on your invoice. A later change follows section 9.5.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancel any time. Cancel in the app, or in the billing portal that the app opens. It takes 1 action and needs no reason. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for. Until then Premium continues. After that your account returns to the Free plan and your records stay.
Refunds. If you buy Premium for the first time and you ask for a refund within 15 days of the first charge, we refund that charge in full. Write to the support email. A renewal charge is not refundable, except where the law where you live gives you a right to a refund, or where section 21 applies. A refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Your statutory rights. Nothing in this section removes a cancellation or refund right that consumer protection law gives you. Section 20 explains which laws apply.
Your content and your data
You own your records. Everything you enter, import, upload or sync stays yours. We claim no ownership of it.
Our licence to your records. You give us a licence to store, process, display and transmit your records. The licence covers only what is needed to run Tally Tame for you and the members you chose. It ends when the records are deleted. We do not use your records to train an AI model. We do not use them for advertising. We do not sell them.
Export. You can export your records at any time. The formats are a streamed CSV, a ZIP of a whole workspace with a manifest, and an archive of everything you own. No request to staff, no waiting. Export needs the export permission in a workspace you do not own.
Your responsibility for content. You confirm that you have the right to enter, upload and share every record, receipt and photo you put in Tally Tame. Do not upload content that is unlawful, that infringes another person's rights, or that contains malware.
Feedback. If you send us an idea or a suggestion, we can use it without paying you or naming you. We do not claim your records as feedback.
Deletion. When you delete your account, we erase your records after a 30-day grace period. When you delete a workspace, we erase it after 7 days. A deleted record can persist in a backup for up to 7 days more. Section 11 of the privacy policy has the full table.
Aggregate figures. We can produce counts and totals that identify nobody, such as the number of workspaces created in a month. Those figures are ours.
Read-only API and personal access tokens
Tally Tame offers a read-only HTTP API.
- You create a personal access token in the app. You scope it to the modules you choose. It returns the same rows that the CSV export defines.
- A token is a credential. Keep it secret. Anyone who holds it can read what it is scoped to. You are responsible for every use of it until you revoke it.
- We store tokens hashed. We cannot show you a token again after you create it.
- A token dies with your membership. You can revoke it at any time.
- We can rate limit the API, change it, or revoke a token that is abused. We announce a change that breaks existing clients at least 30 days ahead, except for a security fix.
- The API carries no service level commitment.
- Software that uses your token must keep it as safe as you would. Do not build a service that resells access to Tally Tame.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- use Tally Tame for anything unlawful, or to hide the proceeds of crime;
- enter records that are not yours, without the permission of the person they concern;
- invite a member who is under 18;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission;
- interfere with the service, or place an unreasonable load on it;
- use a bot, scraper or automated tool other than the API and your own token;
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or resell Tally Tame or any part of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source of the software, except where a law allows it;
- remove or hide a notice of ownership;
- use Tally Tame to build a competing product;
- send spam, abuse or threats to our staff or to other members;
- impersonate a person, a bank or Pixibiz;
- forward mail to a receipt address that is not a receipt.
If you find a security fault, tell us at security@tallytame.com. We thank you and we do not take action against a good-faith report.
Our property
The Tally Tame software, design, name, logo, text, templates, keyword tables and catalogue are ours or our licensors'. We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them through the service, for your own record-keeping. Nothing else is licensed. The name Tally Tame and its logo are trademarks of Pixibiz Digital Inc.
The software includes open-source components under their own licences. A list is available on request.
Third-party services
Tally Tame uses services from other companies. Plaid connects banks. Stripe takes payment. A vision model supplier reads scans. An email supplier sends mail. A text-message supplier sends sign-in codes. A market data supplier gives prices. The Bank of Canada gives exchange rates. The privacy policy names them. Each company has its own terms. We choose them with care. We stay responsible for how a supplier handles your personal information (privacy policy, section 10). We are not responsible for a supplier's service failure, such as a bank connection that stops. If a supplier stops serving us, a feature that depends on it can stop too. We tell you when that happens.
The app can contain a link to another site. We are not responsible for that site.
Changes to Tally Tame
We improve Tally Tame. We add features, change them and sometimes remove them.
- We can change a feature at any time. We announce a change that removes a capability at least 30 days ahead.
- We can add a feature to a plan, or move a feature to a higher plan for new purchases. A feature you paid for stays in your plan until your current paid period ends.
- If we close Tally Tame, we email you at least 60 days ahead. During that time you can export everything.
- A feature marked beta or preview can change or stop without notice. Use it at your own risk.
- We can suspend the service for maintenance or for a security event. We restore it as fast as we can.
Tally Tame carries no uptime commitment and no service level agreement.
Suspension and termination
By you. Delete your account in settings at any time. You have 30 days to undo it. Then we erase your records. Cancel Premium first if you want a final invoice. A deletion does not refund a paid period, except as sections 10 and 21 say.
By us, for cause. We can suspend or close your account for 4 reasons. You breach these terms. The law requires it. Someone uses your account for fraud or attack. You do not pay. We tell you why, unless the law forbids it or telling you would harm an investigation. Where the breach can be fixed, we give you a chance to fix it first.
By us, without cause. We can close an account or end the service without cause on 60 days' written notice. During the notice period you can export everything.
Effect. When an account closes, your licence ends and Premium ends. The grace period and the export rights in section 11 still apply, except where we close an account for fraud or for a legal requirement. Sections 6, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 23 survive.
Warranties
We provide Tally Tame with care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it is free of errors or always available. We do not promise that a calculation is right, that a synced line is right, or that it fits your purpose.
Consumers keep their rights. If you are a consumer, the law where you live gives you warranties that we cannot exclude. One example is a warranty that a service is of reasonably acceptable quality. Nothing in these terms removes such a warranty. Where the law lets us limit a warranty but not exclude it, we limit it to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for a loss caused by a wrong record, a wrong calculation or a wrong scan. The same applies to a late or missing sync, a missed notification, or a decision you made on the basis of Tally Tame.
- We are not liable for a loss caused by the service failure of a third party. That includes your bank, Plaid, Stripe or an AI model supplier.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss, lost profit, lost data that you could have exported, or loss of business.
- Our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to a cap. The cap is the greater of $100 CAD and the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
These limits do not apply to a liability that the law does not let us limit. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and a liability that consumer protection law protects. In Quebec, nothing in these terms limits our liability for our own acts or the acts of our representatives.
Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with us, write to the legal notices email. We try to resolve it with you within 30 days.
Ontario law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario, sitting in Toronto, have jurisdiction over any dispute that we cannot resolve together.
Your local rights. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection law of the place where you live still applies to you. You can bring a claim in the courts of that place. In particular:
- Quebec. The Consumer Protection Act of Quebec applies to you. You can bring a claim in Quebec, under Quebec law. These terms do not require you to arbitrate, and they do not stop you from joining a class action.
- Other Canadian provinces and territories. Your province's consumer protection law applies to you. It can give you cancellation, refund and warranty rights, and it can let you sue in your province and join a class action.
- United States. You keep the protection of the consumer law of your state.
- Elsewhere. You keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. You can bring a claim in its courts.
No forced arbitration. These terms do not require arbitration. They do not waive your right to join a class action. They do not shorten a limitation period.
Small claims. Either of us can bring a claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We change these terms when the product, the law or our business changes.
- For a material change we email every account holder at least 30 calendar days before it takes effect. We show a notice in the app until that date. At your first sign-in after that date, we ask you to accept the new version. The email says what changed. It shows the old text and the new text of each changed clause.
- If you do not accept a change, cancel Premium or delete your account. You can do this at any time up to 30 days after the change takes effect, at no cost. We refund the unused part of a prepaid period.
- If you keep using Tally Tame after the change takes effect, the new terms apply to you.
- A change that the law requires, or that fixes an error, can take effect sooner. We still tell you.
Each version carries its effective date. Earlier versions are available on request.

- Change
- Section 4: two-step verification by authenticator app or text message; carrier rates apply to text messages; STOP ends texts but does not close the account or remove the two-step requirement. Section 8: receipt lines and items; the scan consent covers receipts and statements and points to the privacy policy for the supplier's name. Sections 15 and 22: the text-message supplier; no amount in a text message. Revised on 2026-09-14, before publication, for the same release: section 5, a business workspace's GST/HST and QST registration answers; section 8, the model can misread an address, and confirming a scan can record the payment and move a balance. Revised again on 2026-09-14, the day bank sync went live, before any customer account existed: section 3, bank sync for banks in Canada and the United States, chosen by the sign-up country, and a country can be corrected in Settings with the eligibility rules re-checked; section 7, one country per account, the United States rule under review, and the "not live yet" paragraph removed; section 9.1, bank sync is live for Premium.
Notices and communications
- We send notices to the email address on your account. A notice counts as received 1 business day after we send it (section 4).
- You send notices to the legal notices email in section 2, or by mail to the address in section 2.
- We send service email that the service needs, including security notices, invoices and notices under these terms. Security notices cannot be silenced.
- We send no marketing email today. If we start, we send it only to people who opted in, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- No email, notification, push message or text message ever contains an amount from your records. Billing email states the plan's price: the receipt, the yearly renewal reminder, the promotion-end notice and the price-change notice. We send billing email ourselves.
General
- Entire agreement. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Tally Tame. They replace any earlier agreement. The privacy policy stands beside them and explains how we handle personal information.
- Assignment. You cannot transfer these terms to someone else. We can transfer them to a company that takes over Tally Tame. We tell you ahead, at least 30 days where the law allows it (privacy policy, section 9.6).
- Severability. If a clause is invalid, the rest stays in force. The invalid clause is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its purpose.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a clause at one time, we can still enforce it at a later time.
- Events beyond our control. We are not liable for a failure caused by an event we cannot reasonably control. Examples: a power failure, an internet outage, a supplier failure, a strike, a natural disaster or an act of government.
- Language. These terms are in English. A French version does not exist yet. That is why Tally Tame is not offered in Quebec today (section 3).
- Headings and the short version. Headings and the short version in section 1 help you read. They do not change the meaning of a clause.
